Nick Gleeson Bobsleigh Sponsorship Opportunity

Nick Gleeson to Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

My name is Nick Gleeson and I am a professional athlete for the Great Britain Bobsleigh team who are a part of the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association (BBSA). I am also a serving soldier within the 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment.

I have been involved in the sport of Bobsleigh for just over 3 years now and got introduced to the sport by the Army coach Sgt Steve Smith. From then, he progressed me through to the GB setup until I reached the 2018 Olympic games in PyeongChang. Within that time scale, I have worked my way through the team, competing at the Europa Cup Circuit 2016/17, World Junior Championships 2017 and also the World cup circuit 2017/18. I also return every season to compete for the Army Bobsleigh team at the Interservice Championships against the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy.

As the Olympic Cycle closes to and end we start looking forward to not only the next season but the next 4 years leading up to the next Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. My personal aim and achievement within this cycle is to become a driver of the sled and return home with a medal.

The Great Britain Bobsleigh team has some of the best athletes within the sport and the world, but we can only go so far with just physical performance and unfortunately Bobsleigh is not a cheap sport, and for me wishing to pursue a career as a driver over the next 4 year, I need some help.

I love the sport of Bobsleigh as it is nothing like anything else in the world! Unfortunately, I can’t do it all on my own and need help to get to the ultimate end goal in 4 years.

If you do choose to sponsor myself/ the team, you would be able to have your logo/emblem displayed on the side of my sled, also if you are really interested and would like to even give a bit of Bobsleigh a go, I can even invite you down to Bath University where we train and you will have a chance to have a day on the Bobsleigh Push Track we use down there.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this document and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future and hopefully you will be able to help me out to get the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Investment

The Investment is obviously a big thing. Bobsleigh isn't cheap and is a unique sport here for money is something that is managed very closely. Europa Cup Circuit: Germany, France, Switzerland, Latvia, Austria 2 man bob team + 1 spare brakeman 16 weeks away training/competing = £48,000 (£16,000pp) 4 man bob team + 1 spare brakeman 16 weeks away training/competing = £80,000 (£16,000pp) This money would be used on: - Hotels/hostels - Fuel – We drive around Europe and transport the sled -Track fees – Each track has a different price ranging from £65-£95 - Gyms and training facilities - Food and water - Border tax - Flights – World Cup Circuit takes the team to America and Canada - Air freight – Sleds get flown out in a crate - Tools - Equipment – ice spikes (£200)
